BarrierPro Polymer™ is a synthetic butadiene copolymer latex designed for use in manufacturing thin disposal gloves. These show excellent performance in medical and food handling applications owing to superior tensile strength, and low modulus balance combined to make the material an excellent choice for these applications.

This synthetic polymer does not contain natural latex protein, hence addresses the concern for Type 1 allergic reactions. BU-care polybutadiene copolymer made with BarrierPro Polymer™ are environmentally-friendly. Disposal of these gloves via incineration would not result in generation of chlorinated compounds, nor potential toxic products compared with vinyl and nitrile gloves respectively.

BarrierPro Polymer™ was developed by Dow Reichhold Specialty Latex LLC and patented for use in glove applications.

BU-care polybutadiene co-polymer exam gloves show the following distinctive features:
• Silicone-free, NPE (Nonyl Phenol Ethoxylate)-free, Plasticiser-free
• Very good mechanical stability
• Free from NR latex proteins
• Films provide excellent tensile strength/ modulus balance – soft, strong films
